At the end of the same article, I found this:

A couple of days ago somebody wrote "It's the end of the world as we know it--R.E.M." on my painting of Tim Geithner. To paraphrase, "It's the end of The Times as we know it." Never in the course of human events has an organization had its head more up its ass regarding new technology. Wasn't the whole idea of USA Today to present the day's news in a manner suitable for idiots? At what point did The Times decide that this too was its mandate?
