Oh! There's also this:

An actual announcement.  A real bit of news.  Other than the usual F1 stuff, of course.  A bit of news that, in fact, requires leading with an apology.

I apologize.

I apologize for joining Twitter -- something I said I'd never do.  Twitter, to my mind, is a powerful societal force that sends us careening all the faster toward utter stupidity.  The notion that speed of delivery is a substitute for intelligent content is the evil root of the thing.  I'm reminded of the related notion that the bigger a painting is, the better it is.

Which, of course, is not true.

My handle, if that's even the right word, is @GVRaymond.  I have three followers; one of whom appears to be a pornographer, based on her profile.  This, I must say, makes me happy.

The reason I finally started was because somebody directed me to a tweet about me and my Richard Fuld painting.  The content of the tweet was ...

I know the seller of the Geoffrey Raymond Dick Fuld painting, let me know if you have any interest http://www.examiner.com/article/is-dick-fuld-art

Which was interesting because I didn't know he was selling it.

Not that that's a problem.  I mean, he paid a fair price at the time and it's his to sell if he chooses. I anticipate following the events closely.  I realized I couldn't do so without joining Twitter.  So I did.  I apologize.
