Strong Neck
I just saw a photo of Danica Patrick in an evening dress. And do you know what makes her different from all the other attractive women in evening dresses? Neck like a linebacker.
Head weighs 8 pounds. Helmet, plus stuff, weighs 5 pounds. Lateral G-force exerted by an Indy car is 4-5 Gs. Length of race 2 hours.
So that's like lying down on a table with your head hanging over the edge and having a 40-50 pound child intermittently sit on the side of your head for two hours.
It's not exactly like that, but still, you need a neck like a linebacker.
