This whole George R. R. Martin business

A couple of posts ago I was pretty hard on George.  I suppose it should be said that what he has achieved with his Game of Throne books and the HBO series they spawned is nothing short of marvelous.  So when I'm bitching about the insufficiency of books 3 and 4, I don't lose sight of how extraordinary the man's overall achievement is.
