I should note that one intrepid reader sent in a comment.  Since there are so few comments here at TYOMP, it wouldn't surprise me if you didn't read it.  So I'll paraphrase it here:

"In the words of Col. Walter E Kurtz:  'The horror!'"

Which is a strong bit of work, melding current events with one of my ongoing blog topics -- the surrealistically-depicted Vietnam of Apocalypse Now.

Hmmm.  That sounds like my novella.
